Stopped here looking for a quick lunch on our way to VT. I was skeptical based on the exterior but gave it a try anyway. Its a dated greek diner (32 years in business ) with a comfortable lunch counter and several booths. The waitstaff were pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I had a delicious pastrami rubin, it was lean, tender and perfectly toasted on the grill. Their house made coleslaw was a tangy mayo and vinegar style that complemented the rubin nicely. My son had the gyro burger. He said “best burger I’ve ever had”, and hes had a lot of burgers. Hes is a bit of a burger snob! The burger was a hand formed patty of ground gyro meat mixed with feta and served on a fresh soft kaiser roll.
Wife had a grilled cheese with bacon and a side of house made corned beef hash. A it light on the bacon but a yrue “grilled” cheese. I tasted the hash and can say it was tasty. Finished lunch with “Toms” house made rice pudding, creamy, tender and served with just enough whipped cream and cinnamon. Most if not all of the desserts looked homemade. Its obvious they care about the food they put out at Olympos diner and their customers. You don’t stay in business 30+ years not caring. We may never happen by this place again but if we do we will stop in. Five stars for being a great local diner!
